MiddleChild: How are you doing Tweet?
Tweet: Hey. How are you?
MiddleChild: I’m Good. Lets go ahead and get this started. The first question we all want to know is if you have picked a second single yet.
Tweet: It’s going to be between “Sports Sex & Food” and “Cab Ride”.
MiddleChild: Ok. Cool. I love both of those tracks. We also hear that you are doing a tour with John Legend this summer as well.
Tweet: We’re working that out now.
MiddleChild: Oh ok. Well with the delays of the album and all the changes was there ever a time where you wanted to give up on music?
Tweet: No, not at all. Music is one thing I really love so I wouldn’t give it up.
MiddleChild: What’s the biggest challenge you have faced? I know the main problem between “Southern Hummingbird” and “It’s Me Again” was the label changes right?
Tweet: Yea, there were a lot of different changes. Right now, everything is going good. You know it’s just that the industry is so radio driven and if you don’t have a radio friendly song it doesn’t get much airplay…that’s the only hang up. But I’m not going to compromise and change myself…change my music because radio is not going to play it.
MiddleChild: I feel you. I mean there is a noticeable difference between music of today and yesterday. Radio has to have that one element no matter how repetitive it gets.
Tweet: Right.
MiddleChild: And that’s the one thing that we appreciate about your music is the fact that it’s so you and you have yet to settle. So in “Sports, Sex & Food” you’re letting the women know what it takes to get their man….what advice would you give to us fellas?
Tweet: To always make sure she is number one. Communication and monogamy.
MiddleChild: In most of your songs you discuss relationships. What is your inspiration because sometimes you have some pretty deep lyrical content.
Tweet: It’s just about life in general. You know. I found the best way for me to deal with anything that happens in my life is to write about it. All my songs are about life experiences and what I go through.
MiddleChild: My favorite songs from “It’s Me Again” are “Iceberg”, “Cab Ride” and “Small Change”. Do you have a favorite?
Tweet: Umm, I can’t even pick a favorite because they’re all like my babies. But, uhm, I would say a special one is the one with my daughter TaShawnna. (The Two of Us)
MiddleChild: Does she have any interest in the industry?
Tweet: Uhm, yea. But I wouldn’t allow her to do it right now. She’s too young. I just want her to be a young lady and grow up. But when she gets older and wants to do it, maybe…you know.
MiddleChild: What do you think is the biggest misconception for singers in the industry? And how much does talent play into it?
Tweet: Biggest misconception? Wow, I don’t know. I think for me it’s easy to fool the world on the talent. A lot of people in the industry aren’t talented. I mean I don’t know. (laughs) I think a lot of people think that we’re all rich too. You know, it’s a lot of hard work and it’s not easy.
MiddleChild: I checked you out last year, October 20thto be exact, on the Seagrams Gin Live Tour with Ceelo and Teedra. How was the vibe? Did you get to chill with them between cities?
Tweet: We chilled from time to time. But you know when you’re on tour you usually get on stage, get off stage, and then head to the next city. So it was kind of hard, but when we had a chance we did hang out.
MiddleChild: Ok. Are you going to get to visit your international fans in Australia or New Zealand?
Tweet: Yea. We’re working on a tour over there as well.
MiddleChild: That’s going to be nice. Now, I also know that you’re on Missy’s upcoming release. Besides that, are you a guest for any other artists and their projects?
Tweet: Not right now. I’m just trying to make sure this album does what it’s suppose to do.
MiddleChild: Before striking your solo deal, you were a member of a group “Sugah”. Are you still in contact with any of the members? Have you ever considered having them do background vocals for you?
Tweet: Naw. The last time I talked to one of them was maybe three or four years ago, but we lost contact. And I basically do my own background vocals.
MiddleChild: Is there any chance that we’ll ever hear your record, “Hypnotiq” from the movie “Honey” or see the video for “Smoking Cigarettes”?
Tweet: The “Hypnotiq” song… I thought it would be on the soundtrack. I don’t know where you could get it now or who even owns that now. And as far as “Smoking Cigarettes”, we might out that as a bonus on a DVD or something. We did shoot a video for it.
MiddleChild: During your downtime, you were still busy. We saw you on “The Parkers” and “Honey” and you also had some soundtrack cuts. What else did you do between albums?
Tweet: I really took time out with my daughter because when you have albums out you stay really busy. So, I hung out with her.
MiddleChild: Who are your favorite artists and what was the last few cd’s you purchased?
Tweet: Van Hunt is my favorite. I listen to John Legend of course, and umm, I really don’t….The last cd I purchased was probally…whew, I couldn’t tell you. I think I bought…yea, I bought Faith’s album.
MiddleChild: Interesting. Ok. Well I like to play word association with the artists I interview. Tell me the first thing that comoes to mind when I say a word or artist Ginuwine.

Tweet: Thank you. Bye Bye.
